Things to do in Costa Brava this summer
At PGA Catalunya we want to make sure our residents and visitors make the most of their summer so we have been working hard to develop a programme of events that can’t be beaten.
If you are looking for inspiration for what to do this summer in Spain then you might be amazed by what’s on offer. Check out Summer Activities at PGA Catalunya and the Hotel Camiral for full details. The Catalunya PGA Resort’s headline hotel, Hotel Camiral, has one of the most exciting and fun-filled Summer Programs in the whole of Europe. There is something for everyone.
For the sports enthusiast
Golf lovers will adore having access to the most picturesque PGA Catalunya Resort Stadium course, voted #1 in Spain. With 36 holes of challenging golf that makes the Pro’s sweat, it’s a great course to play but there’s a lot on offer if you like other sports too.
The weekly rotating program has numerous sporting activities on the daily schedule like Bike rides through the beautiful Caldes de Malavella, sea swimming, diving, swimming in the hotel’s beautiful pool, playing tennis or paddle on one of our four floodlit courts and fishing. Each of these activities is guided and run by the experienced staff from the hotel. Naturally, there are Golf Clinic’s for all ages too.
For the wellness seeker
For many, summer is the time we recharge our batteries and focus on our wellbeing. Our summer programme includes activities that support wellness including fitness classes, Pilates and stretching sessions.
Why not visit our Wellness Centre to make use of our indoor hydrotherapy pool and healing thermal suite? There are body treatments and massages to help you melt the stress away. You can even have a massage poolside.
For the culture vulture
There are so many things to do in Girona. The Catalunya Resort is within easy striking distance of the cities of Girona (30 min) and Barcelona (70 min). Both have a lot on offer if you want to immerse yourself in local culture and history with stunning historical architecture and a multitude of museums.
If you love music and art, the Sunset Session is the perfect accompaniment for your favourite sundowner, this year there are a series of acoustic concerts featuring amazing artists. Plus there is an exhibition of striking photographs of David Bowie by Gilbert – a well-known rock star photographer.
To round it all off there is a Summer Market where you can shop until you drop with countless crafts and fashion items for sale.
For the gastronome
Venturing out to check what is on in Costa Brava, you best be prepared. The Costa Brava coastline is one of the most beautiful in all of Europe and with a host of Michelin star restaurants all along the coastline, there are many delectable creations to nibble on. With shuttle services twice daily, you can enjoy Costa Brava beaches, heavenly food and watch the sunset over the glorious landscape.
Even if you want to stay in the resort your taste buds will thank you. From the Camiral signature restaurant, 1477, serving lunch and dinner every day overlooking greenery with the sweet smell of Jasmine in the air. The menu is a continuation of the rich and long history that the Girona province has in Gastronomy. Delicate flavourful ingredients cooked to sublime perfection can be found in every dish. The Lounge Bar serves a host of mouth-watering cocktails and top brands of international spirits, the perfect place to get together to plan the next day’s activities or just sit and chat about the awesome time you are enjoying.
There are also local wine and food tours on offer – did you know we have a vineyard and are hoping the first wines will be ready later this year?
It can be tough to keep children entertained when there is a long summer stretch out ahead of you. But Costa Brava with children provides choice and fun in abundance. We offer Nico’s kids club for children aged between 3 and 12 to make sure they get the most from their summer whilst also giving Mum and Dad precious free time.
Will your children choose to discover the birds, insects and creatures living in the resort with our resident biologist or head to the Forest Park to play on zip lines and wooden bridges in the trees? Picturing all the great activities, cultural experiences and unbelievable food and drinks, there is so much to do in Costa Brava this summer. We look forward to welcoming you
